Flu jabs are very different this year and due to social distancing we are booking appointments for all flu clinics. We are also doing all our Blackhall flu clinics in the community centre next door to the surgery.  There is a list we have to prioritise for flu jabs and we will be contacting patients to book them in.

PLEASE DO NOT CALL TO BOOK IN YOU FLU JAB WE WILL CONTACT YOU!

Flu JabThe flu jab is available every year on the NHS to protect adults (and some children) at risk of flu and its complications. Flu can be unpleasant, but if you are otherwise healthy it will usually clear up on its own within a week. However, flu can be more severe in certain people and as such we offer it free of charge to the following patients:

    • anyone over the age of 65
    • children aged 2, 3 or 4 years old
    • pregnant women
    • carers
    • Patients in the COVID Shielding group and the people that live with them
    • children and adults with an underlying health condition (particularly long-term heart or respiratory disease)
    • children and adults with weakened immune systems

The flu jab will be available in practice from September until the end of March.

Under 18s will be given the nasal flu instead of the injection, over 65s will get the fluad vaccine and under 65s will get the quad vaccine.
